Isn't there usually a couple people rummaging through the .dat? Surprised they haven't said anything yet.

You guys are trying rly hard to destroy GW1 so we'll buy GW2 huh?

Eh, I hate being the usual bitter one, but I fully agree with the above...

If they were new minis, I'm sure we'd have heard from those .dat-mining people. I'm guessing they are "leveling the field" for people who don't own extremely rare minis quite yet...just like they have with many weapon skins before (excepting o/s stats, ofc).

I am so disappointed. I have always associated Anet with creativity. There is nothing creative about this. It is a complete cop-out.
While many of you did not like the 6th year Tonics, I thought they were creative and great! Even Norgu!
This... is a slap in the face. Nothing says we don't care like reusing the same old mini's for the player who have been with you from the start; and that is disappointing.
I expected better... a lot better.
Guild Wars had a great run. 7th year gifts were supposed to be the glorious ending to an awesome tradition. The event is sensational. I thought it was going to have an amazing ending with a great 7th year gift. Instead it is a terrible, just terrible ending to a great game.

Yes, I am just pointing out why they are recycling minis instead of tonics this time.

Sure, but creating a new set of minis would take more development effort. They have to recycle at a certain point and since the task of pushing GW2 out the door is taking away most of their resources, they have chosen to recycle starting this year.
I can't really blame ANet for recycling birthday presents, it has to happen soon since GW2 is about to be released. Maybe it would have been more popular if everyone gets this new 1 or the other ultra rare mini pets for their 6th birthday presents instead.

At least I don't feel that it is much of a waste to give away/delete all my dedicated mini pets now since I would probably be getting them back...lol

Well I am happy I did a different preorder than Gw2 as the support here for the last several years has been abysmal. I understand the need to recycle pets but just a heads up to your PR marketing people/dev team its a bad idea to abandon a game with repeats/lack of support before your sequel is actually released.

It's a good idea to end a game, they're deliberately restraining themselves from adding new miniatures to the game so that completionists can actually complete it. This allows you to actually get all the yearly miniatures instead of having to come back and grind more every year. And also supposedly adds a few rare minuatures so people who have been chasing a certain one for years may actually get it. I'm all for this
God I hate ignorant fools like you.

I agree with allowing people to complete things but don't you think it is a little early to shoot the draft horse? Gw2 isn't exactly released yet and it hasn't done a single preorder beta until this weekend.

But doing it before the new game has been vetted and without any communication is just plain dumb.
And if those rare minis are the super rare ones already in the game - well, OK, I still think its stupid to dump on so many to give massive rewards to a tiny few. But if they are brand new ones which will only rub salt in the wounds of those who were disappointed, well that will be just a level of incompetence to which most game designers can only hope to aspire. So keeping my fingers crossed they are nagas and pandas and not something totally unexpected.

another chance of getting eye of janthir, as i like that one, and maybe 1 i dont like which is rare, so can sell to get that eye mini
getting the hound as pet is great, but repeating mini's like this also can give others which they didnt get and still want
i didnt get much worthy mini's, but i just wanted that eye of janthir
and candysmith marley is also nice, so who knows
would be cool to gte normally unobtainable ones, like panda.... or just that brown rabbit (s its my luck which sux, lol)
anyway, i cant wait to see what new minis we get
i at least have 2 (very small) chances of getting white rabbit in pre it seems
with a small luck % its good to see older ones (especially if the ones i like) come back
they may do this every year imo
and john, we're at the same low luck level, as i gave away some cheap ones a few years ago, and noone wanted that elf o_O that was for free, but i did manage to lose it to someone, yay
i think its nicer to see small new things added to GW instead of just new bday pressies (like a few things in the suggestions section)
and even the repeating of mini's is nice if you never had the luck to get the ones you wanted, and didnt wanna buy em all (or just couldnt due to higher prices, like i had with eye of janthir, so maybe i get it now... nah, luck still too low, lol)
so thx for at least giving something PLUS a few new mini's

I almost have a full set of minis, I am kinda of sad that the 7th year is going to be mostly recycled minis from previous years. Even if the are the purple/gold/green only. I have several chars. that have b-days coming up so it is not that I am lacking in possibly getting those minis. over again.
Did not expect that the 7th year was a chance for more minis I already have :/

I like it. Finally, I don't have to feel the yearly annoyance that I screwed myself out of a lot of platinum because I deleted all my existing characters 2 months before the first birthday event.

It would be super funny if the pressies dropped all kinds of minis... including Kanaxais, Pandas, Polar Bears and such. :P I'm guessing that's wishful thinking though.
